The Inevitable Change (Mondays)

Dear world,

I have been working on my novel at a very sluggish pace. It has almost seemed to stop all together for the moment. I am lacking inspiration and nerve to go forth and write. However, I have come up with an idea that will benefit both me and this blog! I shall begin a section called Motivational Monday Madness!

Within this blog post that I shall update every Monday, I shall give a quote that I have found noteworthy and has given me a boost to do some writing. It works so much better than 5 Hour Energy and plus, it leaves a better taste in my mouth (no offence to those who like the energy shot).

So to all, here it is!

Motivational Monday Madness!!!

"Carpe Diem" -Horace

"Seize the day" is what it is commonly translated as.

I, being a huge fan of Latin (since I took it as a course throughout high school), have always loved this quote. Two simple words, but it motivates so many to continue on and be themselves.

They even utilized this in one of my favorite movies Dead Poets Society. It stars Robin Williams (another favorite of mine) who plays the role of an English teacher who inspires his students to find themselves through his unorthodox teaching of poetry. It really is a very touching story and I watch it all the time.

"Carpe Diem." Beautiful. It also has an interesting background. It's meaning has evolved since it's primary use of "what will be, will be," which is less motivating, and in our current view of things, most uninteresting. However, I felt a bit of knowledge on the subject might be interesting.

And as I have found this a bit funny, Jack Black has been quoted saying, "I'm fairly certain that YOLO is just Carpe Diem for stupid people." I can kind of relate to that notion. Well done, Jack Black.

So as we close on this Motivational Monday Madness premiere, remember to not let that cruddy Monday morning get you in the dumps! Seize the day! You are the maker of this day and you are the one who's going to make it worth something bright and brilliant. Don't give up. Keep writing! Keep looking up! And most of all, stay beautiful because I know you are.

Cheers,
